We are aware of emails in circulation that advise the reader of the threat of another terrorist attack. Following the attacks of July 7, extra policing patrols have been put in place across London, with officers from the MPS, City of London Police and British Transport Police providing visible reassurance, advice and support, and also to act as a deterrent. All police forces are reviewing their own counter-terrorist plans, undertaking community assessments and considering appropriate extra patrols in potentially vulnerable areas and transport hubs. However, we are not aware of any specific threat at this time. We would advise the public to remain alert and vigilant, and to inform police of anything they see or hear that is suspicious. The confidential Anti-Terrorist Hotline number is 0800 789 321.

We do not need to remind you to remain vigilant at all times because this is a constant message that you know well. We would, however, encourage you to review your contingency, business continuity plans and security arrangements in the event of any future event. Also, there is a need to retain your cctv recordings safely until we contact you. Please make the necessary arrangements with your security teams. Please visit the City of London Police website on www.cityoflondon.police.uk. There is a hyperlink to a witness details form requesting details from anyone within your organisation that may feel that they have seen or heard anything about yesterdays incidents that may be helpful to the investigation. Please encourage staff who are potential witnesses to use the form. Alternatively, they can contact the Anti-Terrorist hotline on 0800 789321. For anyone that wish to find out about an individual that may have been a victim of yesterdays attack, the Casualty Bureau number is 08701 566344. Further useful information can also be obtained from the Corporation of London\'s website at www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/Corporation. At the time of the incidents across London yesterday, you may have experienced difficulty whilst using mobile phones and \'land lines\'. We are encouraging all organisations to keep calls to a minimum if further events occur. This may help the telephony system to maintain a service. If you have security staff that are part of Project Griffin, we would ask that you deploy them with their high visibility jackets on immediate vicinity external patrol over the weekend if you can. Lastly, we have greatly valued all your assistance. We are working hard to help you get back to work. Superintendent Brett Lovegrove

Please be assured that the City of London Police service, the Metropolitan Police the British Transport Police are working together with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Service to save life, treat the injured and minimise the potential from further attack. Cordons are being reduced and some access to buildings are being allowed balanced with the need for these specialist units to complete their tasks. They are all working hard to return the City back to normality. Whilst they are doing this, we would urge you and your staff to remain vigilant and tune into the media to receive up to date news that we provide. We would advise you to only travel into London if necessary for the time being and contact police only in an emergency. Contact telephone numbers will be given shortly. Superintendent Brett Lovegrove

Stay put and stay calm - do not try to travel if you have made it into central London. Do not call the emergency services unless it is an emergency situation. Casualty Bureau telephone number to be announced shortly. Six sites - one bus. Coordinated emergency response is in place. Picture is confused due to multiple sites, but becoming clearer. No speculation at this time to what has caused these incidents. London emergency services have been on high alert for some time - no speciffic intelligence to indicate today\'s incidents. Message End
