Lower Morden Communitysafe 14th March 2010
In recent weeks the team have assisted St Helier SNT in the execution of a drugs warrant. A quantity of controlled drugs where seized and four people arrested. The team continues to work with other wards to help make Morden in general a safer place.
On Friday 12th March PS Wiltshire and PC Evered dealt with an argument in the street between two drunken people. This resulted in the arrest of a male for breaching his court bail conditions. The male involved was sent to court the next morning.
There have been a number of burglaries of garages in Dunster Avenue. The team continue to patrols these areas and relevant crime prevention advice.
A Property Marking day was held outside the Co- Op, Grand Drive on the 13th March 2010. A number of residents where spoken to and people appear happy with police actions and the low levels of crime on the ward.
This is just to let you know that Met Tracks (free professional athletic coaching for 10-17 year olds) is being re launched in the borough on Thursday 25th March at 4pm until 530pm at The Hub, Tooting and Mitcham FC, Bishopsford Road, Morden. We have sent posters to all the SNTs, STT and SSOs to display on their wards or in their travels and I have also attached the link to their website. At this stage, we are not too sure what format the launch will take but I would be very grateful for any publicity. The sessions are aimed at a group of 20 in total and run every Thursday 4-530pm including school holidays…and is free!
The team continues to work with the local community and visitors to Lower Morden Ward to ensure public safety and Lower Morden continues to be one of the safest wards in London. If you have any concerns re crime or Anti Social Behaviour please contact the team on 0208 721 2456 or email LowerMorden.SNT@met.police.uk
