Police carried out two simultaneous search warrants - one at the Red Lion Pub at the north end of Sutton High Street and the other at a flat in Brunswick Road, Sutton. The raids resulted in a total of six arrests - five men and one woman. They were arrested on suspicion of a variety of offences including possession with intent to supply cannabis, being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, handling stolen goods and fraud offences. Town Centre Insp Chris Green said “Police were responding to information received from the local community and information that had been gained through Police intelligence work. We will use all the resources at our disposal to reduce crime and make Sutton even safer."
A woman who broke into a house and drank whisky from the drinks cabinet and searched through bedroom drawers was sentenced at Sutton Magistrates Court. Paulina Kisielska, aged 22, of Aplin Court, Grove Road, Sutton, admitted the burglary, in Grange Road, Sutton. Kisielska was sentenced to a community order of four months and to pay compensation of £200 and costs of £85.
